Bartender最近频繁发生的打印标签问题分析

其实作为资深WINDOWS用户，我一般都不建议用户会自动更新补丁，其实很多时候不补没问题，一补就有问题。

当然这个问题Bartender官方也给出了及时的响应，我基本就是做个翻译工作。

There is an issue printing from all BarTender versions if Microsoft Windows Updates from August 9, 2016 are installed.

"After you apply this security update and you print multiple documents in succession, the first two documents may print successfully. However, the third and subsequent documents may not print."

Symptoms

Applies to: All BarTender versions

Your exact symptoms and error messages may vary as the entire scope of the issue is not yet known.  The following symptoms are what have been reported.  BarTender will print 2-3 jobs successfully, and then throw one or more of the following BarTender or Windows errors when it tries to print. 

BarTender Errors

Error 3700
BarTender cannot use printer '<printer name>' to design, print or export a document due to a printer setup problem.

Error 3721
BarTender cannot use printer '<printer name>' to design, print, or export a template due to a printer setup problem.
A Windows error code was returned: <data>
Error message: <data>

Windows Errors

Error 995 
Error_Operation_Aborted
The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.

Error 1804
Error_Invalid_Datatype
The specified datatype is invalid.

Error 122
Error_Insufficient_Buffer
The data area passed to a system call is too small.

Solutions

The issue is currently under investigation by the Seagull development team, who is working directly with Microsoft to find a resolution.  Updates will be posted as soon as they are available. There are currently three workarounds for the issue.

Modify BarTender setting for each printer

BarTender 2016 and version 10.1 have a feature called "Use new device context for each print job." When enabled, BarTender can print without issue with the Windows Updates installed.  VisitUse new device context for each print job for instructions.

Remove the update from the affected system

The issue appears to be directly related to specific Windows Updates from August 9, 2016.  Uninstalling the appropriate update should allow BarTender to return to normal functionality. Visit How to find and remove a Windows Update for instructions.

Please assess your security needs carefully before deciding whether to uninstall or delay installing these Windows security updates.

Continuously restart BarTender

Restarting BarTender will allow 2-3 print jobs to work before it needs to be restarted again.

最近很多BarTender用户都出现了打印问题，如3700错误消息及3721错误消息。这个问题存在于BarTender的所有版本，这主要是因为什么？又该如何去解决呢？

根据BarTender英文官网提示，这主要是因为用户应用了Microsoft Windows安全更新，应用了该安全更新之后，连续打印多个文档时，前两个文档也许可以成功打印，但第三个以及后面的文档可能无法打印。

错误消息#3700及错误消息#3721：

解决方法:

Seagull研发团队目前正在研究此问题，他们将直接与Microsoft合作寻找解决方案，Windows更新一旦可用就会发布出来，这个问题当前有三个可行的解决方案：

1、修改每个打印机的BarTender设置

BarTender 2016和10.1版本有一个功能叫“对每个打印作业使用新的设备上下文”，启用该功能，BarTender即可正常打印，不会因安装了Windows更新而受影响。具体操作如下：

1）在BarTender中，点击工具栏中的“管理”，选择“高级打印机和驱动设置”。

2）在弹出的设置对话框中，选择你要用于打印的打印机，然后在右侧的设置界面勾选“覆盖默认设置”及“对每个打印作业使用新的设备上下文”。单击确定即可。你可以重复此操作为其他你要使用的打印机进行设置。

2、从受影响的系统删除更新

这个问题的出现直接与2016年8月9日的Windows更新有关，卸载相应的更新应该能让BarTender恢复正常功能。

在决定是否卸载或延迟安装以下Windows安全更新之前，请仔细评估你的安全需求。

Windows版本要删除的Windows更新：

Windows 10——Microsoft Windows (KB3176493)安全更新

Windows 7—— Microsoft Windows (KB3177725)安全更新

1）在你的计算机中打开控制面板，选择程序——卸载程序，点击“查看已安装的更新”。

2）然后在右侧找到对应的更新，小编这里并没有更新，小伙伴们要注意找到对应的安全更新，最后点击左上角的“卸载”即可。

3、不断重启BarTender

重启BarTender可以在它需要被再次重启之前让2-3个打印作业工作。
